In the field of interior design, the maximum premise after the First World War was innovation, always subordinated to functionality, leaving aside aspects such as comfort or convenience, which were not considered essential. Interior design stopped looking to the past, stopped paying attention to regional styles or forms; something new and valid for any geographical area was sought. In the 1920s, the dominant concepts were technology and hygiene: domestic objects were designed according to the latest technological advances and interior design was based on diaphanous, sunny and ventilated spaces. Since most interior designs were done by modular homes, they were usually subordinate to the external form of the building, which determined the interior planning and type of furnishings. On the other hand, the bet of rationalism for the free floor plan led to interiors without rooms, with spaces delimited by screens or by the same furniture, with which aspects such as privacy, noise or smells were neglected.511
